03:09 am: Meetings and Phone Calls
It has been an interesting day, indeed. Xander stayed here last night, a brief sojourn on his trip back to California. He told me some tales of his travels - he's seen so much! He ended up falling asleep during the last one - poor fellow. I shouldn't have kept him up so late, but I am glad I got to hear the story about the orphaned Slayer in Cairo!
I took some notes, too. I know Mr. Giles would have liked to hear Xander's stories, but he's been really busy. His presence is crucial in the reforming of the Watcher's Council, of course, although they do keep him really busy. Fortunately, he has me to assist him. I have taken on many tasks in an effort to lighten his load.
One of these tasks is dealing with phone calls. When Mr. Giles doesn't want to talk to someone, he has the calls sent to me. Today, Angel called.
The Council knows all about what happened in L.A. Everyone's talking about it. Mr. Giles said we didn't need to be concerned about it, though. We're keeping an eye on things in case the Senior Partners decide to expand their battleground, but otherwise, it isn't our fight. Willow and Buffy are in San Diego, but Mr. Giles said they needn't get involved.
Angel called earlier today, looking for help. I guess they had a pretty rough time in the battle. They must have won, but he said he there might be more hordes of demons coming after them. Mr. Giles was busy, so I couldn't ask him what to do, so I told Angel we couldn't help him.
Okay, I may have mentioned that there's help available in San Diego. Just as an afterthought. I mean, if there's really that much trouble coming, won't Buffy and Willow want to know about it? If it's really happening. If it's not a Wolfram and Hart trick.
Well, I didn't give Angel any real information. Nothing more than Mr. Giles would have told him, if he'd had the time, and all the details.
